Frequently asked questions

Why do accents look wrong when I open a CSV in Excel?

Excel needs a UTF-8 marker at the start of the file. Keep the option “Add a UTF-8 marker” ticked.

Can it open old .xls files?

No. Open the file in Excel, save it as .xlsx or .csv and use that file here.

Which separator should I use?

Use comma for most files. Use semicolon if your Excel is set to a language that uses a comma as the decimal mark.

What about formulas and formatting?

Only the values are converted. Formulas, colours and charts are not carried across.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser.
