Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Margin is profit divided by the selling price. Markup is profit divided by the cost. A product bought for 60 and sold for 90 has a 33.3% margin and a 50% markup.

How do I remove VAT from a price?

Choose “includes tax”, enter the price and the rate. The tool divides by 1 plus the rate.

Which VAT rate should I use?

Use the rate that applies to your goods and country. The tool does not look rates up.

Are my numbers saved?

No. Nothing is stored or uploaded.
